About This Access Site
Entiat Park offers one of the few public boat launch facilities on the west shore of Lake Entiat (the impounded section of the Columbia River), making it a valuable access point for kayakers and canoeists exploring this central Washington waterway. The 40-acre park features a well-maintained boat ramp, sandy beach area, and day-use access seasonally (April 15–October 15). The park is located along Highway 97A between Wenatchee and Lake Chelan, approximately 6 miles west of the town of Entiat via Entiat River Road—watch for the fish hatchery signs for navigation.

The site is exceptionally clean and well-kept, with on-site amenities including 57 RV and tent campsites for those planning overnight trips. Lake Entiat is suitable for paddling and recreational boating, with calm waters behind the dam. Day-use visitors can access the park free of charge during the open season. For more information, contact the Entiat National Fish Hatchery at (509) 784-1131.

Entiat National Fish Hatchery was built from 1940 to 1941 on 37 acres of land by the Bureau of Reclamation as one of the fish mitigation facilities for Grand Coulee Dam, Columbia Basin Project. Beginning in the fall of 2009, Entiat National Fish Hatchery began raising summer Chinook salmon using eggs from Wells Fish Hatchery. The goal of the program is to maintain a segregated harvest program for summer Chinook. Fish from this program are not intended to spawn naturally and are not intended to supplement, naturally-spawning summer Chinook populations. Released smolts and returning adult fish must travel 490 river miles between the hatchery and the Pacific Ocean.
