About This Access Site
Located just 2 miles north of Exit 23 (SR 84) off I-75 on U.S. Highway 27 in Weston, this boat ramp provides access to WCA 2A and the L-36B Canal within the Everglades Wildlife Management Area. The facility serves as a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the northern Everglades waterways. A second ramp is available approximately 4 miles further north on U.S. 27 if this location is crowded.

The ramp accesses the expansive WCA 2A (Water Conservation Area 2A), a large freshwater marsh system characterized by shallow, slow-moving water typical of Everglades paddling. Expect shallow depths, saw grass vegetation, and wildlife viewing opportunities including wading birds and alligators. Conditions are generally calm, making this suitable for paddlers of various skill levels, though weather and water management can affect water levels seasonally.

Before launching, check current water levels and any seasonal closures through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Nearby alternative access points include the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge at the Lox Road entrance and additional ramps along Tamiami Trail (SR 41) and Alligator Alley for those exploring other WCA areas.
