About This Access Site
Located on the scenic shores of Big Bay de Noc in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, this state park offers a well-developed boat launch facility situated between the campground and picnic area. The ramp provides convenient access to Lake Michigan's protected Big Bay de Noc, making it an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the bay and surrounding waters. The site is situated on the southern UP coast between Snail Shell Harbor and Sand Bay, offering access to both sheltered bay waters and open Lake Michigan shoreline.

The park is easily accessible from US-2, located 16 miles south via Delta County Road 183 near the towns of Escanaba and Manistique. Fayette Historic State Park features a modern campground where sites can be reserved online up to a year in advance—highly recommended during summer months when the facility fills quickly. In addition to the boat launch, the park offers a designated swim area, visitor center, historic townsite, and other amenities, making it an excellent base for multi-day paddling or boating trips in the Big Bay de Noc area.
