About This Access Site
Fenway Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to the mighty Mississippi River near Canton in Lewis County, Missouri. Located adjacent to the Rush Island Power Plant, this access point serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboat operators launching onto one of North America's major waterways. To reach the ramp from Crystal City, take Highway 61 south for 6.8 miles, then follow Route AA and Big Hollow Road for approximately 2.7 miles to the access area.

Paddlers should be prepared for the Mississippi's significant scale and current conditions. As a major river (Stream Order 10) with an average flow of 685,000+ cubic feet per second and average velocity of 11.2 feet/second, the Mississippi demands respect and experience, particularly regarding strong currents and large commercial traffic. Water levels and conditions vary seasonally, and the area is subject to flooding during high water periods—be aware that access may be closed during flood events when water, heavy mud, and debris compromise ramp and road conditions.

Before launching, check current water conditions and river levels, as the Mississippi's character changes substantially throughout the year. The ramp provides access to extensive paddling and fishing opportunities within the Great River ecosystem, though paddlers should use caution and appropriate safety equipment when on this powerful river.
