About This Access Site
Fish Trap Lake's public boat launch is located on the west shore in Cushing, Morrison County, and offers excellent facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The access features a double-wide concrete ramp with a loading dock and parking for 24 vehicle-and-trailer rigs, making it well-suited for multiple launches throughout the day. An outhouse is available on-site for visitor convenience.

The 1,164-acre lake has a maximum depth of 42 feet, with much of the water being shallower than 15 feet—ideal for paddling and fishing. The launch operates on a one-way system (enter from the right, exit to the right) to maintain traffic flow and prevent congestion. Paddlers should note that the ramp has a solid concrete surface suitable for easy launching and retrieval, though boaters report the width works best when angling carefully during busy times. This is a well-maintained public access point suitable for various watercraft and water recreation activities.
