About This Access Site
The FM 1460 access site offers a convenient one-lane concrete boat ramp on the west side of Lake Quitman's dam, located off CR 2966 north of Quitman in Wood County. The facility accommodates approximately 30 vehicles and is operated by Wood County. For questions or additional services, contact Wood County Parks (903) 878-2238 or Wife's Marina (903) 878-7226.

Lake Quitman is a 814-acre impoundment on Dry Creek, a tributary of the Sabine River, with a maximum depth of 25 feet. The relatively calm, scenic lake provides good conditions for recreational boating, kayaking, and canoeing, along with excellent fishing opportunities. The nearby West Dam Recreation Area offers additional amenities and water access for a full day of paddling and water activities.
