The FM 2461 access point provides a free, year-round boat ramp on Wright Patman Lake near the Sulphur River channel in Douglassville. This ramp can accommodate boats of all sizes and is one of 17 launching facilities available on the lake. The location sits within a scenic 30,000-acre reservoir surrounded by northeast Texas piney woods, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboat users.

To reach the ramp, take Texas Highway 8 north from Douglassville for approximately three miles, then turn left and follow signs to the access point. The site offers convenient access to the Sulphur River channel for those interested in paddling upstream or exploring the broader lake. Anglers should note that bighead carp have been confirmed in the Sulphur River below Wright Patman Dam.

For extended trips, Malden Lake Campground is available within 10 miles for reservation, offering a nearby camping option. The area provides ample opportunity for boating, fishing, water skiing, and paddling across the expansive lake.
