Located on Lake Texana in Jackson County near Edna, Texas, the Simon Road boat ramp (also known as Simon's Boat Ramp) provides convenient public access to the expansive 11,000+ acre reservoir created by Palmetto Bend Dam. To reach the ramp, take FM 417 (County Road 417) heading east toward Lake Texana, approximately four miles south of Edna on State Highway 111. The ramp is maintained by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA), which operates 10 public boat ramps around the lake.
This access point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters launching onto the main lake body. Lake Texana offers ample water surface area for paddling and boating, making it suitable for both recreation and fishing. Note that boat ramps may occasionally close for maintenance, so it's advisable to check conditions before your visit. The surrounding area includes additional park amenities such as hiking and biking trails, restrooms, and day-use facilities managed by LNRA.
