About This Access Site
Located in Long Bottom, Meigs County, Forked Run Wildlife Access provides a well-maintained boat ramp for access to the Ohio River. The site features broad parking areas and is conveniently situated just across the road from Forked Run State Park, making it an accessible launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The ramp facilitates entry to the Ohio River's Belleville Pool, a navigable waterway extending upstream to Belleville Locks & Dam.

Boaters should be aware of motorized vessel restrictions in this area—boats over 10 HP must operate at no-wake speeds to protect the environment. Paddlers will find this location ideal for exploring the Ohio River's navigational pools, with upstream access extending 41.5 miles to Willow Island Locks & Dam and downstream access available via the Racine Pool (34 miles to Belleville Locks & Dam). The site's proximity to Forked Run State Park also makes it a good base for combining river paddling with additional outdoor recreation in the area.
