About This Access Site
Fort Casey State Park offers the primary boat launch on the west side of Whidbey Island, providing excellent access to Puget Sound and Keystone Harbor. This is an ideal departure point for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore the Salish Sea, including nearby Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge and the scenic shores of Admiralty Head Marine Preserve. The facility is located within Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve, offering beautiful coastal scenery and additional hiking opportunities along the Pacific Northwest Trail.

A daily watercraft launching permit and trailer dumping permit are available at the park; annual permits can also be purchased online or at State Parks offices. The park does not offer reservable camping directly at the ramp, but Fort Casey Campground is located nearby for overnight stays. Before visiting, contact the park office at (360) 678-4519 or check online for any updates to facility conditions or access. This location is particularly useful for those launching into saltwater environments and offers good support for both motor boaters and paddle craft.
