**Important Note:** The boat launch at Fort Worden is currently closed indefinitely for safety reasons. Paddlers and boaters should use nearby alternatives at Fort Flagler State Park, Mystery Bay State Park, or facilities operated by the Port of Port Townsend.
For those visiting the park for other activities, the site historically offered moorages and a boat ramp accommodating both large and small watercraft. The best entry area was located next to the Marine Science Pier in the boat ramp parking area. The site is situated on Port Townsend Bay on the Salish Sea, offering opportunities for kayaking, diving, crabbing, and fishing in a scenic setting near Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. A Washington State Discovery Pass or one-day parking permit is required for visitor parking, available for purchase at the main administrative building. The nearest pumpout facility is at Port Townsend Boat Haven; call (800) 228-2803 for details. For current park information and events, visit fortworden.org.
