About This Access Site
Foster Bar is a primary take-out point on Oregon's Wild and Scenic Rogue River, located near Illahe in Curry County. The boat ramp serves rafters, kayakers, canoeists, and anglers taking out from upstream sections of this world-renowned fishing destination. Foster Bar Campground sits adjacent to the access point on a large meadow, offering scenic surroundings and historic significance as the site of the final battle of the Rogue River Indian Wars.

To reach Foster Bar from Gold Beach, take US-101 north to County Road 595 (Jerry Flat Road), then continue 20.9 miles on Forest Road 33 (Agness Road) before turning onto County Road 375 (Agness Illahe Road) for the final 3.4 miles. Note that motorized boat traffic uses this section of river, so be prepared to yield to driftboats and motorboats on the ramp. Pack and rig your boat away from the ramp to keep the area clear for quick launches and take-outs.

Foster Bar provides good access to explore the Wild Rogue Wilderness and nearby hiking opportunities like the Mule Creek Trail, with camping available at Foster Bar Campground and dispersed sites in the area.
