About This Access Site
The Fox Chain O'Lakes boat ramp in Antioch provides convenient access to one of Illinois' premier multi-lake systems. This state-owned, free launch facility serves the interconnected chain of eight lakes totaling over 7,000 acres, with the largest being Fox/Nippersink Lake (2,376.8 acres) and Pistakee Lake (1,715.7 acres). The ramp is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats seeking to explore diverse water conditions across this expansive system.

Facilities at this access point include ample parking near the ramp with only a short walk to the water, plus clean, well-maintained restrooms. The strategic location within Chain O'Lakes State Park connects you to a network of ramps that allow paddlers to navigate between the various lakes via channels. This makes it ideal for day trips or extended paddles across multiple water bodies. The chain supports healthy populations of bass, pike, walleye, muskie, catfish, crappie, and bluegill, attracting both recreational paddlers and anglers.

**Note:** The lakes undergo winter drawdown beginning in late November through early December, which may affect water levels and launch conditions during winter months. Check current conditions with the Illinois DNR before planning winter visits.
