About This Access Site
The Clifton E. French Park Boat Launch in Plymouth provides convenient access to Medicine Lake, one of the larger recreational lakes in the Twin Cities area. The facility features a concrete ramp approximately 25 feet wide, suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Dedicated parking is available for boat trailers (note: parking fees apply). The park also offers an accessible fishing pier for those interested in multi-purpose recreation.

Paddlers should be aware that Medicine Lake can experience significant aquatic vegetation, particularly seaweed and algae, which may require frequent cleaning from paddles and propellers. The lake offers nearly a mile of shoreline to explore with both quiet lagoon areas and more open water. Beyond water access, French Regional Park provides additional amenities including hiking and biking trails, children's play areas, and meeting facilities, making it a full-service recreation destination. Consider using the alternative boat ramp on the west side of Medicine Lake during any maintenance periods.
