About This Access Site
Freshwater Bay County Park offers year-round water access to the Strait of Juan de Fuca, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators. The 21-acre park features a concrete boat ramp and direct beach access suitable for launching kayaks and canoes. The tranquil bay provides relatively sheltered water compared to the open strait, making it accessible for paddlers of varying skill levels. The lower picnic area, boat ramp, and restroom facilities remain open year-round.

Located 10 miles west of Port Angeles near Port Angeles, the site is reached via State Route 112 and Freshwater Bay Road. In addition to water access, the park offers fishing and crabbing opportunities. Note that the upper picnic area and additional amenities are seasonal (May 15–September 15), though the core boat launch facilities are available throughout the year.
