Galice Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to the Rogue River near Merlin in Josephine County. This is a popular put-in and take-out point for paddlers and boaters exploring this section of the nationally designated Wild & Scenic River. A day-use fee applies ($5). The ramp serves as a convenient access point for half-day and full-day river trips, with several nearby access points available upstream (Hog Creek is about 7 miles upriver, and Indian Mary Park is approximately 5 miles upriver).
The Galice section of the Rogue features predominantly Class II water that is generally read-and-run friendly for paddlers of moderate experience. The landing places you within the scenic Hellgate Canyon area and near the boundary of the Wild and Scenic corridor. Downstream take-outs at Grave Creek (about 5 miles downriver) offer additional options for longer trips. Note that Galice Landing is often recommended as a take-out point rather than Grave Creek due to less congestion.
The surrounding area provides excellent recreational opportunities, including access to the 35,000+ acre Wild Rogue Wilderness and the scenic Galice-Hellgate Backcountry Byway. Private boat ramp access is also available at nearby Galice Resort if needed.
