About This Access Site
Gallatin Marina provides a well-maintained concrete boat ramp (24 feet wide) on Old Hickory Lake, a 22,500-acre reservoir on the Cumberland River in northern middle Tennessee. This popular access point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore one of the region's most visited recreation destinations. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains the lake with 44 public boat access sites available throughout the reservoir, with no entrance fees.

Old Hickory Lake is suitable for a variety of paddling and boating activities, from leisurely kayaking and canoeing to fishing and water sports. The reservoir maintains consistent water levels year-round (full pool at 445 feet mean sea level, with winter drawdown to 444 feet), making it predictable for planning outings. Daily water levels can be tracked on the TVA Lake Information website. The underlying Cumberland River is a major waterway with significant flow (average 39,227 cubic feet per second), though the lake setting provides calmer conditions than the river itself.

Located in Sumner County near Gallatin, this marina offers convenient access to the lake with quality facilities and services. For current information on amenities, hours, and any applicable fees, contact the marina directly or visit the TVA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation websites.
