About This Access Site
Garrett Park provides year-round public access to the Sabine River near Logansport in De Soto Parish. The site features a boat ramp, parking, and primitive tent camping without facilities. Located on U.S. Forest Service land (Sabine National Forest), this access point serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters exploring this section of the river.

The area is particularly popular during spring white bass spawning runs, when fish congregate in this stretch of river. Water levels can affect usability, especially near the Black Shoals area upstream. Paddlers should be prepared for conditions typical of a working river system and check water levels before planning trips. The primitive camping option makes this a convenient base for multi-day paddling trips on the Sabine River.
