The Garrison access point is a small, informal launch located near the bridge in Garrison off KY 10 east of Vanceburg. It features a gravel parking area accommodating approximately 3 vehicles, with 2 picnic tables and a street light nearby. This is an excellent put-in for canoes, kayaks, and small motorboats, particularly if you're planning a downstream paddle on Kinniconick Creek. If you have two vehicles, consider parking one here and shuttling to a take-out location downstream for an efficient paddling trip.
Before launching, check the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife's water gauge readings to ensure adequate water depth for your vessel type. Free parking is available at this access point. The site also provides access to the Ohio River for those interested in paddling larger waters.
