About This Access Site
Gatlin Point is a public boat ramp and access site located on the Cumberland River arm of Lake Barkley in Stewart County, Tennessee. This site provides a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to access the lake and river.

The ramp is situated within the Linton Recreation Area, a day-use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. While the recreation area itself is reservable, the boat ramp is available for public use. Amenities include a sandy swimming area, grassy open space, and opportunities for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing.

The Cumberland River is a major waterway in this region, with Lake Barkley forming a large reservoir along its course. Paddlers can explore the coves, inlets, and islands of the lake, as well as the broader river environment. Conditions are generally calm and suitable for a range of boating activities, though users should be aware of potential wind, waves, and boat traffic as is common on larger bodies of water.
