Gentry Creek Campground provides boat ramp access to Eufaula Lake, Oklahoma's largest lake entirely within the state. Located 9 miles west of Checotah on Highway 266, this facility sits along scenic lake shoreline and offers 26 campsites for those planning extended visits. The boat ramp provides convenient water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore the lake's calm waters.

Eufaula Lake is renowned for excellent fishing opportunities, including crappie, sand bass, catfish, and black bass. The Canadian River, which feeds the lake, is a major river system (stream order 9) with significant flow averaging over 7,100 cubic feet per second. Below the dam, anglers pursue striped bass exceeding 40 pounds in the tailwaters. Boating and kayaking are popular activities throughout the area.

Eufaula Lake is the largest lake located entirely in the state of Oklahoma. It is located on the Canadian River, 27 miles upstream from its confluence with the Arkansas River. The dam, completed in 1964 and dedicated by President Lyndon B. Johnson, was originally built for flood control.

With over 600 miles of shoreline and 102,000 surface acres of water, Eufaula Lake offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The shoreline ranges from vast expanses of sandy beaches to rocky bluffs, and the scenery is especially beautiful during the fall months, when visitors are treated to an array of vivid autumn colors.
