About This Access Site
Located in Clarksville, Indiana, the George Rogers Clark Homesite offers boat access to the Ohio River at the Falls of the Ohio State Park. The facility features a dedicated boat ramp (open daily), boat trailer parking, and auto parking. The 7-acre site also includes interpretive panels and a picnic shelter, making it a convenient spot for both launching and learning about the area's historical significance. The homesite is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily.

The Ohio River at this location provides a navigational channel that is well-maintained as part of the McAlpine Pool system, which supports river traffic between Louisville and Cincinnati. Boaters, kayakers, and canoeists will find this to be a reliable access point for paddling and motorized boating on the main channel. Note that facility conditions can vary seasonally, so it's recommended to check current status before visiting, especially after severe weather events. Cellular service is available at the site.

I adore sweeping into a lavish lobby that looks as though it came straight from a 1930's movie set."
