German Lake

German Lake is a 791-acre lake located in Underwood, Otter Tail County, in south-central Minnesota as part of the German-Jefferson Chain of lakes. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 46 feet and offers a scenic setting for paddling and boating. The Underwood access point features a concrete boat ramp and dock, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Most ramps can accommodate boats up to 12-18 feet, though some may handle larger vessels.

This is one of two public accesses on German Lake, with another DNR access located on the east end near Elysian. There are typically no launch fees unless the access is within a park requiring a vehicle permit.
