German Lake

German Lake is a 791-acre lake located in Le Sueur County's German-Jefferson Chain in south central Minnesota. This west-end county access site features a concrete boat ramp and dock, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The ramp can accommodate boats up to 12-18 feet, though larger vessels may be possible depending on water levels. There are no launch fees at this county access point.

This access provides a good entry point for exploring German Lake's relatively deep waters (maximum depth of 46 feet). Paddlers should note that a second public access with similar amenities is available at the east end near Elysian through the Department of Natural Resources, giving users options depending on where they plan to explore on the lake. The lake's size makes it suitable for various water activities including fishing, recreational paddling, and boating.
