About This Access Site
Gilbert Park (also known as Grantham Point) is a public boat ramp providing access to Lake Dora in Mount Dora, Lake County. Located in Florida's Atlantic Coastal Plain, this facility offers convenient launch access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The ramp is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Dora, a popular recreational lake known for its scenic beauty and gentle waters—making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels.

To reach the ramp, head south on U.S. Highway 441 toward Mount Dora, turn right onto Donnelly Street, and continue for approximately 1.8 miles to Charles Avenue. Turn left and follow Charles Avenue 0.2 miles to Gilbert Park. From the parking area, cross a canal and turn left onto a graded road for about 0.25 miles to reach the launch point. The site operates during daylight hours and is closed on Tuesdays.

Lake Dora is well-suited for paddling, with access to scenic waterways including the famous Dora Canal—a narrow, cypress-lined passage often called "The Most Beautiful Mile in the World." This location makes an excellent starting point for exploring both the open lake and the quieter canal waters.
