Gilmore Lake is a 314-acre lake in Oneida County offering public boat access via a dedicated landing near Lake Tomahawk. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 24 feet, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small to mid-sized motorboats. This access point provides a good starting location for exploring the lake and accessing prime fishing areas for panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.
Paddlers should note that the lake has a low-clearance bridge to the north of the landing that provides access to another section of the lake. Smaller kayaks and canoes can typically navigate under this bridge, but larger boats may have difficulty. The northern area beyond the bridge is reported to be a productive fishing zone, particularly for walleye and crappie. Plan your route accordingly based on your vessel size.
This is a public facility with standard boat landing amenities. It's an excellent choice for a half or full day of paddling, fishing, or recreational boating in a quieter northern Wisconsin lake setting.
