The Glen Lake public boat ramp is located on Day Forest Road just off M-22 near the Narrows Bridge, providing convenient access to both Glen Lake and Big Glen Lake for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. This DNR-maintained ramp accommodates both motorized and non-motorized watercraft, making it a good launching point for exploring the scenic lakes in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.
Be aware of important water use regulations: a "no wake" zone extends 200 feet on both sides of the Narrows Bridge (marked by warning buoys), and Michigan law prohibits mooring, anchoring, or extended loitering with your watercraft. All docks, rafts, and shorelines on the lakes are private property. Navigation buoys mark the channel leading to and from the Little Glen boat launch to help guide your route.
The area offers excellent camping nearby at D.H. Day Campground and White Pine Backcountry Campground (both reservable), with direct access to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore just minutes away. This location provides easy access to miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, inland lakes, and the spectacular sand dunes and bluffs that define the region.
