Goose Lake State Forest Campground offers a convenient paved boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters accessing Goose Lake in northern Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Located just half a mile north of Highway 55 near Lake City, the day-use area includes parking, picnic tables, vault toilets, and the boat ramp. The campground itself features 30 rustic tent and small trailer sites nestled along the shoreline within a mixed evergreen and hardwood forest.
This is an ideal spot for a full camping experience or day-use outing. The lake is regularly stocked with fish, making it popular with anglers, and the calm water setting is family-friendly. Campsites operate on a first-come, first-serve basis, with watercraft-accessible sites available. The proximity to Huron-Manistee National Forests provides access to additional recreation opportunities in the broader area. Vault toilets serve both the campground and day-use areas, though amenities are basic and rustic in character.
