Goose Public Water Access

**Location & Access:** Goose Public Water Access is located on the southwestern shore of Goose Lake near Watertown in Codington County. To reach the ramp, take Forest Street south from Route 20 (just east of the turnpike interchange) for approximately two miles. Forest Street becomes Goose Pond Road and leads to the access point north of the lake's outlet.

**Facilities & Conditions:** The site features a primitive boat ramp with a small paved parking area accommodating approximately 4 vehicles. This access point is well-suited for kayakers and canoeists looking to explore Goose Lake, which is considered ideal for canoeing. Note that water level fluctuations have historically affected ramp usability, so conditions may vary seasonally. Contact local South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) office for current conditions before your visit.

**Paddling Opportunity:** Goose Lake offers a calm water environment suitable for recreational paddling and fishing. The lake's relatively sheltered character makes it accessible for paddlers of varying skill levels.
