About This Access Site
The Grapevine Area boat ramp provides access to Fishtrap Lake on the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River in Pike County. This is a no-fee, non-reservable public access site with a large paved parking area and an easy walk-down to the water's edge. The site is well-suited for kayaks, canoes, and jon boats. Basic amenities are limited at the launch itself, but nearby shelters (#3 and #4) are available in the recreation area—contact the lake manager's office for details.

Fishtrap Lake sits in a scenic area surrounded by steep mountains in Kentucky's coalfield region. The lake provides a relatively calm paddling environment compared to the free-flowing Levisa Fork. Paddlers should note that a $5 launch fee applies at some nearby ramps on the lake. The nearest services and supplies are available in Pikeville to the north. This location works well as a base for exploring Fishtrap Lake and the surrounding recreation area.
