Grassy Landing

Grassy Landing is a boat ramp access point located on the Choctawhatchee River near Redbay in Walton County, offering convenient launch access to this major northwest Florida waterway. The site is situated on a small bluff overlooking the river, providing a scenic setting for paddlers and boaters. The facility features a single-lane concrete ramp; however, water levels can be quite shallow during low-water periods, so shallow-draft boats and kayaks are better suited for this access point than larger vessels.

The Choctawhatchee River is a substantial waterway—a major stream system spanning 142.62 miles with an average flow of over 7,700 cubic feet per second and a modest gradient of 1.1 feet per mile. This makes it ideal for paddling, with generally manageable current and good accessibility for both kayakers and canoeists.
