The Central boat ramp at Grayrocks Reservoir is a mid-lake access point located on the south side of the lake off Grayrocks Road. This two-lane concrete ramp features a dock and gravel parking area, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The 3,500-acre reservoir offers plenty of open water for paddling and exploration, with relatively calm conditions typical of a dam-controlled impoundment.
Grayrocks Reservoir has excellent amenities with twelve parking areas distributed around the lake, multiple handicap-accessible comfort stations, and vault toilets near the boat ramp. There are also dumpsters available at the launch area. When accessing this site, note that WY-160 approaching from Fort Laramie includes approximately 6 miles of rough gravel road, so plan your route accordingly. The area is popular for both fishing and camping, with numerous dispersed camping sites along the shoreline nearby. Cell service (Verizon) is available but limited in the area.
