About This Access Site
Great River Landing, located at 491 Great Oak Road/Town Landing Road in Mashpee, provides access to the scenic waters of Waquoit Bay. The facility features a short asphalt/concrete ramp pad with a marked drop-off and includes a float/dock for easier boat launching and loading. Parking is available, though visitor spaces may be limited close to the ramp—plan to drop off your kayak or canoe near the launch area and park farther up the road if needed.

**Important to note:** Great River is designated as a No Wake zone, both within the river itself and extending just outside until you reach the Waquoit Bay main channel. This makes it an excellent spot for paddlers seeking calm, protected water for kayaking or canoeing. From here, you can explore the broader Waquoit Bay ecosystem, which encompasses open waters, marshlands, and barrier beaches. The proximity to Cape Cod Canal and Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve adds to the recreational appeal of the area.
