The Green River lower access site in Sweetwater County offers boat ramp access for paddlers and boaters launching into this popular section of the Green River. The ramp is suitable for smaller vessels and standard vehicles with trailers, though four-wheel drive may be needed at times. Parking can be limited, so consider using alternative access sites if congestion is present. **Note: This access is closed April and May for calving season.**
The lower Green River is excellent for fishing and paddling, with abundant trout species including Mackinaw, rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and golden trout. Motorized boats are permitted on this section. Nearby camping options include Weeping Rock and Slate Creek campgrounds (within 10 miles), as well as the Tailrace Camp Area between Fontenelle Reservoir and the river access point. Please close gates behind you, as this is a working ranch area.
