About This Access Site
Grey Bear is a popular take-out point on the Yellowstone River, located near Carney in Sweet Grass County, MT. The site serves as the final access for paddlers coming from the popular Springdale Boat Ramp and the Mr. Bubbles surfing wave upstream. This 4-mile section between Springdale and Grey Bear sees moderate to heavy traffic but offers good fishing opportunities. The access features a gravel boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats, along with toilet facilities and parking.

**Getting There:** Take I-90 Exit 367 north to the Frontage Road, then head west approximately 5 miles. Turn north on N. Yellowstone Trail Road and continue 0.5 mile to reach the site. The access is located along Highway 89 between Livingston and Big Timber, one of six major access points in this 37-mile stretch of the Yellowstone River.

Grey Bear is ideal for paddlers looking for a convenient take-out after floating the Springdale section or for anglers seeking access to productive fishing waters. The site supports hunting and fishing access in addition to boating activities.
