Located at the end of Boat Launch Road in Ocean Springs, this access point offers a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats into Halstead Bayou and the surrounding Gulf Islands National Seashore waters. The site features both a traditional boat ramp for trailers and a dedicated hand-launch area on the east side of the parking lot, making it accessible for paddlers without vehicles. Designated trailer parking and a gravel parking area are available for visitors.
This is an excellent starting point for exploring the Davis Bayou Blueway, a paddling route that allows access to bayou waters, fishing opportunities, and scenic views toward the Gulf of Mexico. The site is managed by the National Park Service and is part of the broader 160-mile Gulf Islands National Seashore. Note that while Davis Bayou day-use is free, fees apply for boat launching and camping. The nearby Davis Bayou Campground (reservable) and Davis Bayou Group Campground provide overnight options for extended paddling trips in the area.
