Located in Taylor County along Florida's Big Bend coastline, Hagen's Cove provides primitive access to the Gulf of Mexico via a concrete boat ramp approximately 20 feet wide. The site is situated within the Big Bend Wildlife Management Area (Tide Swamp Unit), positioned between Keaton Beach and Steinhatchee. To reach the ramp, head west approximately 12 miles on CR 361 from Steinhatchee and look for the Big Bend Wildlife Management Area sign on your left; follow the access road back about 1.3 miles to reach Hagen's Cove.
The ramp accommodates most boat types and includes trailer parking. In addition to the primary ramp, a secondary beach launch spot near the picnic pavilions offers an alternative access point. The shallow, protected waters of this coastal area make it suitable for kayaking and canoeing, particularly for those exploring the Gulf's marshes and coastal ecosystems. This primitive site serves as a gateway to the diverse natural area, which also supports fishing, birding, and wildlife viewing opportunities typical of Florida's Gulf coast.
