Hagerman Lake Recreation Area offers public boat access via a hard-surfaced ramp on the southern end of this 584-acre lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Located near Iron River, the ramp can accommodate all trailerable watercraft and is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. A picnic area is also available at the site. To reach the access point from Iron River, take US 2 west, turn south on M-73 for approximately 5 miles, then turn right onto Hagerman Lake Road and continue about 3/4 mile to the boat ramp.
The lake is popular with anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering good fishing opportunities across its 584 acres and maximum depth of 55 feet. The recreation area is conveniently located near two reservable campgrounds—Stevens Lake Campground and Lake Ottawa Campground—both within 10 miles, making it a practical base for a paddling or fishing trip in the region.
