About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Halfmoon Landing is located in West Newton, Wabasha County, Minnesota, on Pool 5 of the Mississippi River. From Kellogg, take Highway 61 south, turn left onto County Road 84, then right onto West Newton Road to reach the landing. This site is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge.

**Facilities & Boating Conditions:** The landing features a concrete plank boat ramp suitable for motorboats, canoes, and kayaks. The Mississippi River at this location is a major waterway with substantial flow (averaging 685,000+ cubic feet per second) and moderate current.
