Located on Lake Huron near Millersburg in Presque Isle County, Hammond Bay State Harbor offers a well-maintained concrete boat launch ramp with modern facilities ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The ramp features dock access and day-use docking availability, with 15 fixed dock slips for transient boaters. A recently updated comfort building, picnic tables, grills, and a yellow emergency phone are available on-site.
This Clean Marina–certified harbor of refuge provides a quiet, remote setting on the Huron Shores Coastal Water Trail and Hammond Bay Blueway. Access via paved road makes launching straightforward, though paddlers should be aware of moderate bank approach and potential commercial and recreational boat traffic in the area. The sheltered bay location and nearby wildlife viewing opportunities—including the chance to spot bald eagles—make it a pleasant staging point for exploring Lake Huron's coastal waters.
