About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Hanks Place is a public boat ramp located in Port Clinton on the Town of Gypsum-Frontal area of Sandusky Bay, Ottawa County. The ramp provides direct access to Sandusky Bay, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring the bay and its surrounding waters.

**Facilities & Amenities:** This is a substantial four-lane boat ramp with approximately 100 parking spots, capable of handling multiple boats simultaneously. The site includes fishing access, a picnic shelter, and a handicapped-accessible observation deck overlooking the bay. A seasonally-operated concession store is also available on-site. Note that the ramp has a 21-foot depth, so it's suitable for standard recreational vessels rather than smaller car-top boats or kayaks that might prefer shallower launch areas.

**Nearby Options:** If you're paddling a kayak or canoe and prefer easier access, the Shelby Street ramp in downtown Sandusky or Dempsey's Access on Marblehead may offer more convenient alternatives. The site provides excellent access to Sandusky Bay recreation, including proximity to Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial on nearby islands.
