Hanson Lake offers a public boat ramp access point in Aitkin County, conveniently located near the city of Aitkin. This is a straightforward launch facility designed for kayakers, canoeists, and small to mid-sized boats. The ramp is designated for launching and retrieving vessels only, and there are no launch fees at this access site.
Access is controlled via a Master Lock system. If you don't have a personal smartphone for the lock, you can contact a lake board member to arrange access: Maureen Larson (402-670-2818 text), Mickey Luttman (402-290-4160), Joan Bergeron (402-342-3342), or Lisa Marshall (402-699-4719). Most standard recreational boats up to 12-18 feet can be launched here, making it suitable for a variety of watercraft.
