About This Access Site
Located at 355 N 1st St in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, this 10-acre public boat access provides convenient entry to the Mississippi River's Pool 9. The landing features handicap-accessible boat ramps that provide access to both the main navigation channel and scenic backwater sloughs. Amenities include flush restrooms and picnic tables, making it a comfortable staging area before heading out on the water.

This site is an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring the Upper Mississippi River Valley between Genoa, Wisconsin and Lynxville, Wisconsin. Located just three miles south of Galena, Illinois, Harpers Ferry Landing offers shorter paddling distances to popular destinations upstream compared to other nearby ramps. The area supports fishing, sightseeing, and recreation throughout Pool 9's scenic corridor.

For current conditions, water levels, and access updates, contact the local J and L Bait shop in Harpers Ferry, which maintains knowledge of ramp conditions and river access. The landing is managed by the Galena Boat Club and serves as a well-established access point for the region's waterway recreation.
