Harry Harris County Park in Tavernier offers a concrete double-ramp facility with a dividing finger pier, providing straightforward access to Hawk Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. This deep-water, easy-access ramp accommodates both small and large vessels and is heavily used, especially on calm-weather weekends. The facility is designed for day-use parking with 20 trailer spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that vehicle and trailer combinations cannot exceed 55 feet in length, and a small launching fee applies.
Given its location in the Upper Keys where public ocean access is limited, this is one of the busiest ramps in the area during peak times. Kayakers and canoeists launching here will paddle directly into Hawk Channel and the Atlantic, offering opportunities for open-water exploration. The nearby Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge makes this a good launch point for wildlife viewing. Be prepared for crowded conditions on weekends and arrive early to secure parking. Check current weather conditions before launching, as Atlantic conditions can change rapidly.
