About This Access Site
Harry Morgan is a popular carry-in launch located near Ovando on the North Fork Blackfoot River in northwest Montana. This State Fishing Access Site serves as one of the uppermost put-in points for floating the Blackfoot, making it ideal for kayakers and canoeists looking to access the upper river sections. The site offers 4 campsites with a 7-day limit, along with free parking and basic facilities. Note that this is a carry-in launch rather than a developed boat ramp, so expect to hand-launch your vessel.

Paddlers should be aware of important downstream conditions: the Blackfoot flows approximately 51 miles through relatively scenic terrain before reaching the Weigh Station takeout, which is currently the last legal takeout point. The river from Weigh Station to the Clark Fork confluence remains closed for restoration work. The upper section tends to move faster, so plan your trip accordingly and check current conditions before launching. During peak summer weekends, the access area can get busy with other boaters and anglers.
