Harvey Creek Park provides access to Sam Rayburn Reservoir via a four-lane boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels. Located off FM 2390, approximately 8 miles south of the FM 83 junction in San Augustine County, this public recreation area is part of the Sam Rayburn Reservoir system. Note that the ramp may become unusable during low water levels, so it's worth checking current lake conditions before your trip.
Sam Rayburn Reservoir is a massive 114,000-acre lake situated in the scenic Big Thicket region of Texas. The reservoir features extensive flooded timber, lily pads, channels, and varied underwater structure that supports abundant wildlife and vegetation, including native orchids and diverse animal species. Harvey Creek area is particularly noted as a prime paddling and fishing destination. This is ideal for day trips, fishing expeditions, or exploration of the reservoir's many creek systems and natural habitats.
