Located in Mims off Hatbill Road (4.2 miles west of I-95), Hatbill Park Sand Ramp provides 24-hour access to the St. Johns River via a sand launch. This government-owned, public-access site is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats seeking freshwater paddling on Florida's longest river. The park features port-o-let facilities and is situated within the scenic 15-acre Hatbill Park, known for excellent birding opportunities along the Florida Birding Trail.

The St. Johns River in this section offers a classic Florida flatwater paddling experience, winding through diverse habitats. The site's proximity to the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and St. Johns National Wildlife Refuge makes it an excellent gateway for exploring wildlife viewing opportunities. Primitive camping is available on weekends by permit only.
