Hazel Creek Lake, located 4 miles north of Kirksville in Adair County, offers two boat ramps and a courtesy dock managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This is a solid access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking for a developed launch facility. The site includes two parking lots and privies to support day-use activities. To find it, head north from Kirksville on Highway 63 and watch for the Hazel Creek Community Assistance sign on the east side of the highway—turn west onto the gravel road at that point.
The lake welcomes boating, fishing, camping, and water sports throughout the year. Note that the general access area closes to public use from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily, though launching and landing boats is permitted 24 hours a day in designated areas. Nearby Kirksville offers convenient access to amenities including lodging, restaurants, bait and tackle shops, and some RV hookup options for those planning an extended visit.
