Headwaters Access

**Location & Facility:** Headwaters Access is a public boat ramp located in Scott City, Cape Girardeau County, operated by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The site features a concrete launching ramp suitable for canoes, kayaks, and small boats accessing the Headwater Diversion Channel.

**About the Water:** The Headwater Diversion Channel is a 34-mile flood control structure that diverts streams formerly flowing into the Little River. While not officially navigable, the channel accommodates small watercraft including canoes and kayaks. This access point is part of Missouri's network of 15 public access areas serving over 190 miles of floatable mainstem streams and tributaries in the region.
