Healy Reservoir is a 215-acre fishing and boating destination located 3.6 miles east of Buffalo, Wyoming off Highway 16. The access area offers two boat ramps to accommodate different water levels and vessel types. The newer concrete railroad tie ramp in the middle parking lot features a steeper launch angle and remains usable even at lower water levels, making it the more reliable option for most boaters. The original gravel ramp is still available but is best suited for launching when the reservoir is near full capacity.
This scenic reservoir is popular for fishing and recreational boating, with ample parking available. Kayakers and canoeists will find the relatively calm, enclosed water ideal for paddling, while motorized boaters also frequent the area. The dual-ramp system provides flexibility depending on current water conditions, so it's worth checking which ramp is most suitable before your visit.
